I was excited to try something new, and I was curious to see what all the hype was about. I knew that this would be an opportunity to have my resume written by a trained professional.Of course, the recruiter told me, that if I would be accepted into the program, I would need to contact the local State and Federal career center, which was closest to where I lived. This is a very important step to take, because it allows the state and Federal jobs to search for you, because they know that the only person who knows your resume better than you is you. Not many people realize that.It was great to receive my very first invite to submit my resume to the eventbrite.com hiring site. At this point, I felt like the cover letter had been replaced with the actual resume. The information I got about the job and the position they were looking for in my area was incredible.They said there was a lot of competition for this position, but there was also a lot of competition for the positi on. A lot of people wanted the position, but none of them had ever done anything as important as taking a break from their busy lifestyle to make the effort to make a difference in their community. In fact, most of them had no idea what that even meant.Because of this amazing situation, I was able to put together a federal resume that included skills that were extremely important, as well as activities that are typical of my field, but I was able to include them in my resume on the Federal level.
